Load the track, split the song into shooting segments, play back with a countdown for the artist and log every take on set. Each playback is stamped with timecode so the editor can line picture up with the music.
Pick the segment to shoot and the track starts a few seconds before the in-point with a 3-2-1 count. The screen shows the current lyric and the time left in the segment, so the artist, director and camera team stay together.
Anchor the camera timecode by typing it in or scanning the camera display with the iPhone camera. Every playback records the matching timecode, so the editor can find the right clip for each part of the song.
Each run is a take with camera, clip number and quick notes. Mark circled takes or reshoots; the shot board shows which segments are covered and which still need work.
Export segments and takes to Premiere Pro XML, DaVinci Resolve EDL, SRT lyric subtitles, CSV, or a .nex package for the ShotBook Rough Cut plugin.
Pick an audio file on the device; ShotBook draws the waveform for segmenting.
Set the in-point of each segment and assign lyrics, artist and setup. Segments can also be imported from Sheets.
Play back with a countdown and log the take and clip number for every run.
Export XML, EDL, SRT or a .nex package for post.

No. Music, lyrics, schedules and take logs are stored on the device.
ShotBook still records the time of every take. In the edit, the clip numbers in the log identify the footage; timecode just makes matching faster and more precise.
For music videos, syncing footage to the track requires the ShotBook Cut tool on the editing machine. Contact kientrong@nexpicture.com for setup.
